Lower Darwen Primary School Choir

Presently, the LDPS Choir has thirty-five junior members.

It is run by Mr Price and Miss Sambrook.

The criteria for becoming a choir member is really quite simple - anyone who enjoys singing is welcome to apply.

The choir takes part in many events, including:

  • singing in a variety of concerts within the locality
  • singing for special events
  • singing within inter-school events
  • singing to support charitable causes
  • playing instruments to enhance performances
  • recording solo vocals, in pairs, and in small and large groups

Recently, the choir has enjoyed performing and recording in support of the 'Maddi's Butterflies' charity. They have appeared on Granada TV News, recorded at Bolton FM radio, and performed at the Blackburn Rovers stadium.

Other events have included performing at the 2012 Darwen lights switch-on, governors' and heads' conferences and a variety of events hosted by Blackburn with Darwen Music Service. In recent years, they have sung at the 'Big' and 'Little' Sings, carol concerts at Blackburn Cathedral and King George's Hall. They also performed at charity collections for Asda and Tesco.

LDPS Choir can proudly announce that every performance has resulted in the highest of praise from organizers and audiences.

Anyone wishing to join the choir should contact Mr. Price.
