Events

The LDPS Choir performs at several events each year.

Where required, an event scheduled within school hours will usually have transport provided. The school will inform you of any special arrangements regarding lunches. We will carry out a suitable risk assessment and ensure any medical requirements are catered for.

Events that occur out of the school day (e.g. evening concerts) will usually require choir members to be brought to and from the venue. Of course, on most occasions, you will be welcome to stay and enjoy the concerts.

We ask that parents and carers try to ensure choir members attend concerts for which they have practised. They are always entertaining and give children a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Uniform

On most occasions, we will require the children to wear school uniform when they perform. Otherwise, we will inform you of alternative requirements.

Photographs

Please be aware that events are frequently photographed, often by local newspapers, the Blackburn with Darwen Music Service, and indeed, ourselves. Such photographs are used solely to promote and celebrate such events.

Treats

Whilst we do not run the choir on a reward basis, we appreciate the children's time and effort and, indeed, your support. From time to time, we may offer the children a treat as a special 'thank-you'.

Finally

We are very proud of our choir. Every event results in the highest praise from audiences and organisers. Even though faces may occasionally change, the quality stays high, simply because the children at Lower Darwen Primary School just seem to love singing! We value the enthusiasm of the children and extend our sincere thanks for your support.
