On Tuesday (9th October 2018), some of our children were involved in a Ribble Rivers Trust art project. This involved sketching and creating art in the local community. Our pupils had a wonderful day.
Emily from the Trust who worked with the children on the day wrote ‘It has been an absolute delight to work with KS2 children from Lower Darwen Primary School. After an engrossed morning of developing new artistic skills, the children demonstrated just how much they had learnt and how focussed they had been, by creating absolutely stunning artwork to record their journey to the River Darwen.
We were also impressed at how much understanding the children had absorbed about their local river and the importance of protecting it. We hope that these new skills and care for their river are things that they will enjoy using and sharing with other children in their classes.’
